Hi! I am Tracy. A lot of people know me as friend. Many know me as pastor. If you know me, you know I love Jesus, my wife Beth, my family, God’s family, my friends and my dog. You also know I need a lot of grace. I don’t think I am one of those EGR’s (extra grace required). Well at least not most of the time. But I have found life is to be lived Inside God’s Grace.
Like you, I struggle with my sinful nature. As a matter of fact one the things I am best at is sinning. It doesn’t take much effort. But I have learned while Jesus will judge this world, He is not primarily a judge. Jesus said, “If anyone hears my words but does not keep them, I do not judge that person. For I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world” (John 12:47 NIV).
Jesus is my advocate. “My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world” (1 John 2:1-2 NIV).
Inside God’s Grace is my attempt to share what Jesus is teaching me about following Him. I believe the gospel really is Good News. There is a lot of bad news. There seems to be a lot of fake news too. So, I will seek to share Good News: truth and grace.
Here are some assumptions I will be making:
- God loves you – period. Nothing you can do can make God love you more or less than He does now.
- Obeying God isn’t to please Him. His principles, precepts and commands are not to control us; He just knows how human experience is to be lived best.
- God desires life transformation. He is a gentleman and doesn’t force His way. He has chosen to partner with us. He invites us to follow Him.
- Accountable Grace is a real thing. As brothers and sisters in God’s family, we are to hold one another accountable for this life transformation. Not with religious rules, but with a desire for living life to the fullest as we do life together following Jesus in an atmosphere of grace and forgiveness.
I hope you will join me as often as you can to catch a glimpse of what I am learning about God’s grace. And hopefully He will have something for you as well. “Let us approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and grace to help us in our time of need.” (Hebrews 4:16 NIV).
Dear Tracy,
I like this website. Really good stuff here. Thanks for sharing. Prayers for you, your family, and your journey. You are a true ambassader for Christ. God bless You.
Sincerely,
Shane Cox
